10/8/04 Meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and City <br /> CHAMBER TRAILSIDE BUILDING <br /> 1. City will continue to plow the parking lot <br /> 2. Chamber will be responsible for shoveling the sidewalks <br /> 3. City will continue to mow grass <br /> 4. City will change florescent lights inside Chamber building (Chamber will provide <br /> lights) <br /> 5. City will change lights outside of the building(Chamber will provide lights) <br /> 6. Add language to the lease to allow the Chamber to prepay the building early <br /> 7. Chamber will pay the City automatically—no need for the City to bill the <br /> Chamber <br /> 8. When the building is paid in full, the Chamber would like to own the building. <br /> Can we tie the language of the deed to the lease? <br /> 9. Change references of the Pequot Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce to Brainerd <br /> Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce <br /> 10. Under Item#5 add the following verbiage ("and special events sanctioned by the <br /> Chamber") <br /> DONATED SIGN FROM SCHAEFFERS <br /> It was the consensus of the Chamber and City that the sign will be owned by the <br /> Chamber of Commerce. The sign is located on the property owned by the City(Trailside <br /> Bldg. Property). The Chamber will be responsible for the maintenance, insurance, <br /> changing the Letters and the criteria for us. <br /> (After meeting with Ron Schaefer(following the Chamber/City meeting) Ron indicated <br /> that he donated the sign to the City with the stipulation that it be a community sign to be <br /> used only for Pequot Lakes community events. <br /> BOBBER WATER TOWER AND SMOKEY HOLLOW FISH COMPANY BUILDING <br /> Currently the City owns the building, land and water tower. The Chamber leases out the <br /> building and pays the City $150 per month to the City to be put in a"demolition" fund in <br /> case the tower needs to be demolished. The Chamber uses the balance of the rent money <br /> to maintain the water tower. <br /> The Chamber would like to be totally responsible for the water tower including the <br /> demolition of the tower, should it be needed. Therefore, the Chamber is proposing not to <br /> pay the City$150 per month. If the Council agrees on this, we will have the leases for the <br /> tower and building updated by the City Attorney. <br />
