We serve the business community and area residents by supporting special events such as the City's Fourth of July Celebration and Bean Hole Days. The Chamber's charitable gambling allows Us to provide local support for the City's Police and Fire Departments, Kinship Partners, the Pequot Lakes School District and other local civic groups. The Pequot Chamber of Commerce and its members have benefited from the celebrity stature,of the now famous water tower and at a recent Chamber Board meeting voted to support efforts to keep the Bobber Tower and to support a new "golf ball"water tower. We believe that a significant part of the heritage of this town could be lost if the tower were destroyed or removed. In an effort to pursue the preservation of the landmark, the City approached the Chamber to consider whether or not the Chamber would be interested in purchasing or leasing the tower for a small amount of money We would propgse the following: A. The Pequot Lakes Chamber of Commerce will enter into a long-term lease of the water tower,.land and.existing Chamber.Building. B. The Chamber will assume the responsibility of maintaining and painting the water tower structure.
