PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> OPERATIONS REPORT FOR OCTOBER 2004 <br /> I <br /> FIRE CALLS: 6 calls <br /> BY TYPES: BY LOCATION: <br /> 2 structure fires 3 Pequot Lakes i <br /> 1 motor vehicle accident/rescue 2 Breezy Point <br /> 1 motor vehicle clean-up (assist police) 1 Jenkins Township <br /> 1 fire alarm(cancelled in route) <br /> 1 medical assist (assist North Ambulance) <br /> TRAINING: 2 hours (Pump operation, monitor water flow at new and <br /> old fire hall, and driver's training for new <br /> personnel) <br /> FIRE BILLS: 3 bills sent that total $1500.00 <br /> DRY HYDRANT PROJECT: We completed the installation of 6 underground cement <br /> storage tanks in two separate locations, one in Maple <br /> Township, and the other in Moose Lake Township. The <br /> total cost for the project was $9313.57. We will be <br /> reimbursed '/2 the cost from a DNR matching funds <br /> grant. We thank Bill Rickard for his great job and <br /> dedication to this project. <br /> CIVIL DEFENSE SIREN: The siren located on the old water tower is out of service <br /> and needs to be repaired, or replaced. The police chief is <br /> the Civil defense director for the city, and this is his <br /> responsibility. We have checked with the Crow Wing <br /> County Civil Defense director and there are no grants <br /> available to help us. <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT WEB PAGE: The department would like to thank Nancy for <br /> the help in our part of the city web page. <br /> The project is in operation. If there is any other <br /> information the council would like us to include, <br /> please let us know. <br /> FIRE PAGERS: Our pagers are not working due to a tower problem in Crosslake. We <br /> are working with the county dispatcher and Civil Defense director to <br /> resolve the complicated problem. <br />
