With a west service frontage road it will allow Pequot Lakes to grow in an
organized and efficient manner. For example, from Gloria Dei southbound to#168 there
is room for 89 one hundred foot commercial lots(excluding the homes already there).
Businesses in view of the#371 traffic will probably attract more customers than some
that might be tucked away in a backage road. Even if a road through the back property of
Gloria Dei was not opposed by the church, it would be a ridiculous decision for long
range planning growth of Pequot Lakes. That is a terrible plan!
--What needs to be done—
The Pequot Lakes City Council should direct the city engineer to draw up an
official road plan through Pequot Lakes in time to review by the city council at the
November council meeting. If the city engineer is unable to make that time commitment
the council should consider hiring Landecker Associates. After the November council
meeting the plan could be reviewed for comments from the citizens until the December
council meeting where the final vote should be made by the council. If we miss the end
of year plan,MNDOT will make the decision that rightfully should be made by Pequot
Lakes. Time is running out!
Robert C.
