The 37i Committee was more in favor of the traditional route through town rather than <br />a town square. Traffic flow was an issue and the City should stick with the grid pattern. <br />Mr. Burslie also reported that the land that was deeded to the City by the DNR includes <br />restrictions so the land cannot be developed. <br />The final report will be sent to the Highway 371 Committee and they will forward to the <br />City CounciL <br />Chair Seils opened the Public Hearing. <br />-i��,. <br />PUBLIC HEARING: <br />APPLICANT: City of Pequot Lakes <br />Applicant requests an Ordinance Amendment Regarding Penalties for Land <br />Use Violations <br />A motion was made by Planning Commission Member Habein, seconded by Planning <br />Commission Member Wilson, to remove this public hearing from the table. All <br />members voted "aye". Motion carried. <br />Mr. Burslie explained the Prosecuting Attorney redrafted the amendment due to <br />concerns of the Planning Commission and the Council Liaisons present at last month's <br />meeting. <br />Sittner explained Staff will continue to contact property owners to resolve issues. This <br />amendment is to establish a penalty for instances where there can be no resolution. She <br />further explained the Police Chief has offered to make initial contact with potential <br />violations in the hope personal contact will inspire a faster resolution. <br />Planning Commission Member Brown questioned the placement of the bold "or"; it was <br />determined it should be placed on the last "and". <br />There was no public comment. <br />A motion was made by Planning Commission Member Habein, seconded by Planning <br />Commission Member Oraskovich, to recommend the City Council approve the <br />Ordinance Amendment. All members voted "aye".
