Pequot Lakes City Hall
From: "Tim Houle" <thoule @wsn-mn.com>
To: "Sandy Peine (E-mail)" <city hall @uslink.net>
Cc: <"DonN'@smtp1.onvoy.com>; <"KevinD"@smtp1.onvoy.com>; <"MikeR"@smtp1.onvoy.com>;
<"RickZ"@smtp1.onvoy.com>
Sent: Friday, June 04, 2004 10:07 AM
Subject: Pequot Lakes- Elevator for new City Municipal Services Building
Sandy,
Some information on the above subject for the Council (prior to awarding the
project to Hy-Tec at their Friday, June 11, 5 pm meeting):
+Time of completion is 120 days from the date the Agreement is signed
between the City and Hy-Tec (they need time to order the elevator and
corresponding equipment and then to install it).
•The elevator is a LULA - Limited Use/Limited Application elevator.
• The capacity is 1,400 pounds.
• The speed is 30 feet per minute.
• The door is 3 feet by 6 feet 8 inches.
• The cab is approximately 4 feet by 5 feet. It will be a little less than
this on the inside due to rails and door.
+ The ceiling of the cab will have two down lights protected by 1/2-inch egg
crate diffusers (not sure how"hot" they will be).
Hope this is some of what Council members were looking for.
Regarding the construction phase, the Council Tuesday night approved us
working with the City as required/as requested by Mike.
Following is my suggested approach for you and Mike to follow as you see
fit:
+ The City (Sandy)takes care of getting the appropriate bonds and insurance
from the Contractor and getting the agreement signed.
+ WSN Conducts a pre-construction meeting with the City (Mike) and the
Contractor(and his subs and suppliers)to review the contract, point out
who is responsible for what, and to review initial questions.
• WSN review material and equipment shop drawings from the Contractor.
•The City (Mike) handles the on-site observation and the compilation of
'as-built' drawings.
+ WSN responds on an on-call basis to the City (Mike) when questions come
up during construction (which they will)that the Contractor cannot find in
or the contract documents do not address clearly.
+ WSN provides on-site observation services only when requested by the City
(Mike).
+ WSN is present during start-up/testing.
There are a lot of parts and pieces to this with several different trades
working on it, so don't hesitate to call with questions.
TimH
Timothy M.
