AGENDA ITEM #12.2 <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Date: June 1, 2004 <br /> Subject: Request to Spend Capital Outlay Dollars for Computer <br /> Upgrades in Clerk's Office <br /> Report: The Clerk's office is requesting to purchase two new <br /> computers; one for Nancy C. and one for Nancy R. It is essential that we <br /> replace Nancy C's computer as soon as possible. She is in jeopardy of losing <br /> the water billing information. Nancy R's computer is locking up constantly <br /> and prevents her from running reports from CTAS (accounting software). <br /> New software is necessary because the existing software will not work with <br /> the new operating systems and the new software will not speak with the <br /> existing software due to age. <br /> The Clerk's office has money in capital outlay, which was budgeted for a <br /> fireproof file cabinet. Due to the move and purging of some files, we will <br /> have an extra file cabinet and therefore won't need one this year. <br /> The cost of the purchase is as follows: <br /> • 2 Intel Basic Business System Computers- $1,160 <br /> • 3 Office 2003 SBE Software Packages - $789 <br /> • TOTAL COST: $1,949.00 <br /> Council Action Requested: <br /> Motion approving purchase of two computers and 3 software packages at <br /> 14.1 $1,949 from capital outlay. <br />
