AGENDA ITEM #5.2.
REPORT TO COUNCIL
Date: April 6, 2004
Regarding: Discussion on Industrial Park Lots
Staff has been working with BLADC to put together a marketing plan for the City's
remaining industrial park lots. We are proposing to market the remaining lots at
$30,000 per acre. The lots were originally supposed to sell for $19,358.68 per acre
when the industrial park was developed. The other issue that we need to work on is
extending infrastructure to the lots that do not have water and sewer available. I am
working with Tim Houle and Sid Inman of Ehlers to see if this is financially feasible for
the City.
I would like the Council to consider authorizing staff to form an industrial park
committee. The committee would consist of the following:
City Council — 2 representatives
PLADO — 1 or 2 representatives
Planning Commission 1 representative
Staff— City Clerk and Zoning Administrator
BLADC — 1 liaison
This committee would meet whenever there is a prospect for the industrial park. The
committee would review proposals and make its recommendation to the Council.
Council Action Requested:
1. Council motion authorizing the sale of industrial park lots at $30,000 per acre.
2. Council motion authorizing the creation of an industrial park committee.
Report.doc
