Request to purchase new truck for water/wastewater <br /> department for the following reasons: <br /> 1. Ford %2 ton not able to pull jetter safely. Had problems this winter getting <br /> out of garage. Resulted in call-out to Fyle's Jetting, which costs $150- <br /> $200 for the call-out fee. <br /> 2. '86 Dodge not running well. Needs carburetor and transmission work. <br /> This truck is used to pull pumps in emergencies. <br /> 3. State bid on new F-350 XL package. $4,000 lower than last year. <br /> 4. GMC Sonoma trade-in value increased from $2,000 to $3,000. <br /> 5. No used vehicles to be found as of this date at any reasonable cost. <br /> Example: 2000 F-350 70,000 miles for $18,500 at Buyer Auto. Nothing <br /> from Mill's, Dotty's, or Houston Ford. <br /> 6. City had purchased service box and crane for a truck last fall. Total cost: <br /> $7,000. <br /> Council approval to purchase 2004 F-350. At a price of <br /> $17,932.73 Less $3,000 trade on GMC Sonoma. Cost of <br /> truck: $14,932.73 plus tax and license fees. Permission <br /> to sell 186 Dodge 1 ton on bid to highest bidder. <br />
