To: Mayor and City Council:
From: Brett Twardy, Water/Wastewater Superintendant
Date: February 27th, 2004
Subject: Water Extension to It Figures.
I have discussed the water extension and loop for East Woodman to South
Washington with Dawn Bittner, Tim Houle, and the property owner, Warren Sunderland,
for the It Figures complex.
Here is the Best solution for all, in my opinion:
1. Tie in existing water main from South Government Drive to the east on East
Woodman approximately 375 feet. Up South Washinton Street approximately 125
feet. 500 feet approximate total. (See Map)
2. T-Ray Construction, owned by Mr. Sunderland, is a licensed and bonded, insured,
reputable company. It specializes in directional boring of water mains and would do
the work for a cost of$10,345.00 including all materials, labor, etc. (See enclosed bid
sheet.)
3. Tim Houle from WSN will have a cost estimate at the City Council meeting
Wednesday night, March 3, 2004.
4. Engineering costs plus labor and material bid from T-Ray Construction will be shared
equally by T-Ray and the City of Pequot Lakes at 50% each.
5. The only question I see is in Mr. Sunderland's request. His bid is for work to be
completed by May 15, 2004. Mr. Houle from WSN should know if this is feasible by
time due to engineering designs, permit request to MDH, and miscellaneous services.
Council Action Requested:
To extend water main from South Government Drive over to South Washington
Street. All costs pertaining to this project will be shared equally, 50% for Mr.
Sunderland and 50% for the City of Pequot Lakes.
Sincerely,
Brett Twardy
Water/Wastewater Superintendant
