City Council Minutes <br /> February 19, 2004 <br /> Page 2 <br /> ---------------------------- <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br /> CONTRACTORS AS RECOMMENDED TO BEGIN WORK ON THE LIBERTY <br /> TOOL BUILDING. COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> Council Member Akerson left the meeting at this time. <br /> 4. Joint Meeting with Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> The Planning and Zoning Commission considered a rezoning of the Sibley <br /> Center property from Agriculture to Commercial and an ordinance amendment to <br /> allow professional offices and contractor's offices in the agricultural zone. <br /> Following the Commission's consideration of the two issues, it was the <br /> recommendation of the Commission to allow business offices as a conditional <br /> use in the agricultural zone. <br /> The Planning Commission recessed to allow the Council to act on this issue. <br /> Because one of the Council members was not present, a vote could not be taken <br /> because adoption of the ordinance required a 4/5th vote. The Planning <br /> Commission reconvened. <br /> The Planning Commission opened the public hearing on the draft comprehensive <br /> plan. <br /> Council Member Akerson arrived. The Planning Commission recessed to allow <br /> the Council to vote on the ordinance amendment. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 04-02 <br /> AMENDING ORDINANCE 35-030 TO ADD BUSINESS OFFICES AS A <br /> CONDITIONAL USE IN THE AGRICULTURAL ZONE. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> The Planning Commission continued the public hearing on the draft <br /> comprehensive plan. Due to the lateness of the evening the Planning <br /> Commission decided to continue the public hearing to February 26, 2004. <br />
