REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Agenda: 7.7. Health Insurance Benefit for City Employees
Date: January 6, 2004
Regarding: The City pays $375 toward employee health insurance
premiums and a pro-rated amount for part time
employees.
If the Council wants to continue to provide this
benefit to those employees who do not participate in
the plan, I would suggest that the employees receive
the monetary benefit once a month with their payroll
check. The money must be taxed according to IRS
regulations. Employees would still have the option of
using whatever portion of the benefit they want in
their flexible spending account.
Action: Does the Council wish to continue to provide this
t benefit to those employees who do not participate in
the City's Health Insurance Plan?
Motion by: Seconded by:
`.. Roll Call: TR MP JJ CM DS JB-A JA
Report.doc
