COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />MOTION AS AMENDED CARRIED 5 -0. <br />11.6. Insurance Agent of Record <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO CONTINUE SERVICES <br />WITH LAKELAND INSURANCE AS THE CITY'S INSURANCE AGENT <br />OF RECORD FOR 2012. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />11.7. Bobber Water Tower Electricity <br />The Clerk noted that at the last Council meeting the Council tabled <br />discussion of this issue until it could be studied further. The Clerk and the <br />Chamber provided the Council with information regarding the history of the <br />bobber water tower. <br />`- COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO TAKE THIS ITEM FROM THE <br />TABLE. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Council Member Ryan reviewed the history provided. He stated that the <br />Chamber has spent over $16,000 to maintain and repair the lighting of the <br />water tower. Council Member Ryan stated that he felt the Chamber has <br />met the spirit of the 2006 agreement. He noted that the bobber tower is a <br />City icon and that it may be time for the City to take over the asset entirely. <br />The Mayor stated that the City did not budget for paying the electric bill in <br />2012. Mayor Adams concurred that the tower has become a City icon and <br />that it may be time to consider taking the tower over. She suggested that <br />the Chamber pay the electric bill in 2012 and the City budget for payment <br />of the bill in 2013 at which time the City could consider taking over the <br />tower. Council Member Ryan suggested using the funds available in the <br />Water Tower Fund to pay for the electricity in 2012. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO PAY THE ELECTRICITY <br />FOR THE BOBBER WATER TOWER OUT OF THE BOBBER WATER <br />TOWER FUND FOR ONE YEAR. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />
