Pequot Lakes Police Dept.
Report to City Council
December 1,2005
For the month of November the Department logged over 175 ICRs.The Patrol Officers continue their
concentrated efforts on making the local streets and highways safer places to travel, slowing traffic down to the
speed limit, reminding drivers and passengers to wear their seatbelts and removing drunk drivers from behind
the wheel.
Training/Activities:
Nov. 7`h- 18th: Both Officer Josh Gartner and K-9, Shadow passed their training they attended and already
have on the job experience together.
Upcoming:
Dec. 7th: The Crow Wing County Chief's Meeting will be held here at City Hall.
Jan 23d—26th: Chief Jerry Braam will attended the MN Chief's of Police Command School in Little Falls.
Mar 6th—9`h: Deputy Chief John Ryan will attend Leadership Training at Camp Ripley.
Significant Case Files:
• Within just days of returning from training, Officer Gartner and K9 Shadow were able to assist the
Breezy Point Police Dept. in a suspicious traffic stop, where Shadow alerted the Officers to drugs
located in the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the Driver. This arrest lead to information being provided
that allowed other area law enforcement to apprehend another person on gun violations, which again in
turn provided information leading to Federal arrests for gun violations and confiscation of all drugs and
weapons at each level.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jerry Braam
Chief
