SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2005 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor C. Malecha, Council Members Bolz-Andolshek, <br /> Nagel, Sjoblad, Pfeiffer, and Ryan <br /> Members Absent: Council Member Greer <br /> Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Brett Twardy, Water/Wastewater <br /> Superintendent <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Malecha called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City <br /> Council to order at 5:10 p.m. <br /> Mayor Malecha indicated that the purpose of the meeting is to review the <br /> proposed increase in the WAC and SAC fees. <br /> Brett Twardy discussed the need to increase the water and sewer <br /> availability charges. He indicated that the present funds are inadequate to <br /> provide replacement of treatment facilities in a timely manner. Brett <br /> indicated that he is proposing to increase the funds as follows: <br /> WAC—from $500 to $4,900 <br /> SAC —from $700 to $4,900 <br /> He further indicated that these rates should be increased annually. <br /> Brett reviewed the costs to move forward with a rapid infiltration system. <br /> The estimated cost is $1,825,000. <br /> The Council made no decision and indicated SAC and WAC increases <br /> would be discussed at the January meeting during review of the fees. <br /> The special meeting of the City Council adjourned at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Res ctfully submitted, <br /> Sandra A.
