SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2005 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor C. Malecha, Council Members Greer, Bolz- <br /> Andolshek, Nagel, Sjoblad, Pfeiffer, and Ryan <br /> Staff Present: Jerry Braam, Chief of Police; Dawn Bittner, Zoning <br /> Administrator; Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Brett Twardy, <br /> WaterMastewater Superintendent; Tom Nelson, Fire Chief; <br /> Nancy Malecha, Deputy City Clerk; Mike Loven, <br /> Maintenance Superintendent <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Malecha called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City <br /> Council to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> 1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Malecha led with the Pledge of Allegiance <br /> 2. Salary Proposal <br /> Ray Niemann indicated that he has put together a salary proposal as <br /> requested by Council. Ray presented the proposal to the Council. The pay <br /> plan meets the goals of creating internal equity and external equity. By <br /> meeting the internal equity goal the staff will meet the guidelines of the <br /> pay equity requirements. The external equity compares the city's pay <br /> structure on a position by position basis against similar jobs in cities of <br /> comparable size. <br /> Ray indicated that the issue of longevity will be addressed at a later date. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ADOPT CITY GUIDELINES <br /> FOR MAINTAING PAY EQUITY. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE PAY EQUITY <br /> ADJUSTMENTS EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 2005, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> ■ OFFICE ASSISTANT — FROM $11.32 TO $12.25 <br /> ■ WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR— FROM $13.91 TO $14.33 <br /> ■ DEPUTY CITY CLERK— FROM $15.14 TO $15.92 <br /> ■ CITY CLERK— FROM $16.77 TO $18.90 <br />
