City Council Minutes
November 1, 2005
Page 7
----------------------------------
Brett Twardy indicated that he has discovered that the Chamber has not
been charged for water since the building was constructed. Council
discussion pursued regarding whether the Chamber should be billed for
water usage. It was the consensus of the Council that they are not
charged for water usage because the Chamber serves people in our
community.
COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO WAIVE THE BILLING FOR
WATER USAGE AT THE CHAMBER BUILDING. COUNCIL MEMBER
NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
Brett Twardy and Council Member Ryan informed the Council that they
are currently studying future needs for the sewer and water facilities. They
indicated that SAC and WAC charges will need to be increased in order to
put money away for future expansion. They also talked about plant
capacity and the need to plan for the future.
12. City Clerk's Report
The Clerk informed the Council that storm drainage utility bills will be
mailed out soon. She noted that many discrepancies in the bills have been
found that will result in residents receiving bills who have not been billed in
the past and also increases and decreases in bills due to miscalculations
that have been done in the past.
Vehicle Policy
Council Member Greer distributed a vehicle and equipment policy that he
drafted. The Council discussed the policy. The policy states that the only
vehicles to be taken home are police vehicles. All other City vehicles are
to remain on City property during nonworking hours. It was also decided
that a log sheet be kept in each vehicle and that employees fill out the
sheet when the vehicle leaves the City. The log sheet should include date,
mileage, destination, employee, and reason for trip. The Council
requested the City Clerk to put the policy in final form and present to the
Council for review.
13.1. Stop Sign at Intersection of Nelson and Akerson Road
COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK MOVED TO ADOPT
RESOLUTION 05-12 AUTHORIZING PLACEMENT OF A STOP SIGN
AT NELSON ROAD AT THE INTERSECTION OF AKERSON ROAD
