PEQUOT LAKES VEHICLE POLICY: <br /> The only written policy on vehicle use is in the personnel policy. This information is as <br /> follows: <br /> Official Use/Personal Use of City Vehicle. <br /> Whenever practicable, the City vehicle shall be used by City officials/employees when <br /> traveling on official City business outside of the City limits. The City vehicle may be <br /> used for personal use on trips outside of the City on an ancillary basis only. In cases <br /> where the City official/employee extends an official trip for personal reasons, the City <br /> official/employee shall use his/her personal vehicle. <br /> Mileage Approval and Reimbursement. <br /> Use of personal vehicles shall be pre-approved by the City Council liaison of the <br /> department. Wherever practical, City officials/employees attending conferences shall be <br /> expected to ride share. Reimbursement shall be at the rate established by the Internal <br /> Revenue Service, distances shall be established by City Council policy, and subject to <br /> Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations. <br /> Current Practice. <br /> Police Department <br /> All officers drive their squad cars home after their shift. <br /> Street Department <br /> Mike Loven usually does not drive the City pick-up truck home at the end of the work <br /> day. However, He was previously told by a Council liaison to take the City truck home <br /> when it is going to snow. There may be other rare instances in which the city vehicle is <br /> taken home. <br /> Kurt does not drive a City vehicle home. <br /> Water/Wastewater Department <br /> Brett Twardy drives the City vehicle home daily. <br />
