Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to City Council <br /> October 4', 2005 <br /> As of 9/28,for the month of September the Department has logged approximately 180 ICRs. <br /> Officer Josh Gardner joined us on 9113.He brings an additional 6 yrs of experience to the Department. <br /> Bodywork repairs were done on Squad#3 and the Chiefs Tahoe. <br /> Training/Activities: <br /> Sept. 14`h—20'': Officer Rich Hogan participated with 3 Crow Wing County Deputies in a Hurricane Katrina <br /> Relief effort,helping to transport needed supplies to the Police Department of New Orleans, <br /> LA. This effort was a FEMA sponsored program. <br /> Oct. 3`d- Deputy Chief John Ryan will attend a Safe School Initiative seminar at Madden's Resort, <br /> `School Safety in MN,Lessons Learned'.This program is sponsored by the U.S.Departments <br /> of the Secret Service,Education,Attorney's Office and the MN Departments of Education and <br /> Public Safety. Tuition and <br /> meals for this seminar is$100.00. <br /> Nov. 7th- 18th: Officer Josh Gartner will attend K-9 School in,Austin,TX.All tuition and lodging costs for this <br /> program total$840.00. <br /> Jan 23d—26th: Chief Jerry Braam will attended the MN Chief s of Police Command School in Little Falls. All <br /> tuition and lodging costs for this conference will total$375.00. <br /> Deputy Chief John Ryan has submitted our first case to the Restorative Justice Project,pending acceptance by <br /> the board. Chief Braam will be taking over John Ryan's position on the Board,to avoid a conflict with John <br /> working f illtime in the school. <br /> Significant Case Files: <br /> • An arrest was made in the Jenkins Robbery of the JM Speed Stop service station. The suspect Tim Koch <br /> was charged with simple robbery. <br /> • Assisted the Lakes Area Drug Task Force with 2 warrant arrest in Pequot Lakes. <br /> • Assisted the Paul Bunyan Task Force with a warrant served in Pine River, stemming from an incident <br /> that began in Pequot Lakes. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> erry Braam <br /> Chief <br />
