AGENDA ITEM #11 .6. <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Date: September 6, 2005 <br /> Subject: Board of Appeal Training <br /> Report: According to a new law, a city that conducts a <br /> local board of appeal and equalization must provide proof <br /> that at least one member at the meeting has attended the <br /> �. appeals and equalization course. While the law only <br /> requires that one voting board member attend the course, it <br /> is recommended that additional board members attend in <br /> case of an absence. Crow Wing County will be holding two <br /> sessions: October 20, 2005 — 9:00-Noon and 1:00-4:00 <br /> If we do not have a trained council member on the board, <br /> the City must transfer the local board of appeals duty to the <br /> County Board. <br /> Council Action Requested: The Council should schedule <br /> at least two members to attend this meeting. <br />
