Park Board Minutes
July 14, 2005
Page 2
-------------------------
6. Update on Electricity and Pathway
Ron Schaefer stated that the path would be constructed within the next
week and the electricity was in and the lights would be in soon.
7. Shelter Discussion
The bids for the shelter were reviewed. The low bid was at $11,180. The
Board discussed using steel or wood posts. It was decided to use wood
posts and not to have aluminum soffits.
8. Other Business
Chair Anderson stated he would go to the Council meeting in September
and request up to $30,000 so that the shelter could be built. The Board
stated that if there was money left over it would be used for trees,
benches, picnic tables and holiday lighting.
The Park Board discussed placing signs along the walking path that would
read "walking path only" (with pictures indicating No rollerblading, no
skateboards, and no bikes). The Sign would be 20-24" in length and 16"
wide with 2 cedar posts. The sign is to be tall enough to be read at
standing height.
The Board requested Fay Tweed to be in charge of placing the benches in
the park.
The next Park Board meeting will be on September 8, 2005 at 4:00 p.m.
4. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting of the Park Board was
adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Van A. Peine
City Clerk
