City Council Minutes <br /> August 16, 2005 <br /> Page 5 of 5 <br /> ---------------------------- <br /> Council <br /> The proposed 2006 Council Budget is $92,175. This is an increase of <br /> $45,291 from the 2005 budget. The main increases include the donation <br /> to the Library Endowment fund and the Council contingency for wage <br /> increases to get employees up to the average wage for surrounding areas <br /> and for cities the same size as Pequot. <br /> Clerk <br /> The proposed 2006 Clerk Budget is $167,459. This is an increase of <br /> $19,731 from the 2005 budget. The main increases in this budget relate to <br /> the codification of the City Code under contract services and office <br /> supplies for computer equipment. <br /> The Council discussed the salary information provided by the City Clerk. <br /> The Clerk noted that several employees are being paid far below the <br /> average for surrounding cities or for cities similar in size to Pequot Lakes. <br /> The Council concurred that the issue should be reviewed. The Clerk noted <br /> that she would bring the issue back to the Council in September. <br /> L <br /> The Council talked about the proposed levy amount of$1,323,099. It was <br /> the consensus that this figure be used for the preliminary levy. If the tax <br /> increase comes in too high, the Council will look at lowering the amount <br /> before the final levy is certified. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO SET THE PRELIMINARY <br /> 2006 GENERAL FUND LEVY AT $1,323,099. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 5. Adiournment <br /> There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ- <br /> ANDOLSHEK MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> The meeting of the City Council adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br /> Res ctfully sub-miffed <br /> andra A.
