Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Malecha called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City <br /> Council to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> 1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Malecha led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> North Sluetter Road <br /> The Clerk indicated that North Sluetter Road is withdrawn from the <br /> agenda based on information received from the City Planner and the City <br /> Attorney. <br /> 2. Discuss Vacation Benefits <br /> The City Clerk informed the Council that Jerry Braam would like to start <br /> working as the Police Chief on August 29. She stated that the City may <br /> not have the results of the psychological and medical exams and <br /> background investigation by the 29"'. The Clerk stated that Jerry Braam <br /> currently receives 120 hours of vacation per year. He has requested the <br /> Council to consider offering him the same amount of vacation time that he <br /> is currently receiving. She stated that according to the City's policy a <br /> person must work one full year before getting one week of vacation. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO HAVE JERRY BRAAM BEGIN <br /> EMPLOYMENT AS THE POLICE CHIEF ON AUGUST 29 ON A <br /> TEMPORARY BASIS UNTIL THE RESULTS OF THE PHYSICAL, <br /> PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION HAVE BEEN <br /> COMPLETED, AT WHICH TIME, IF ALL TESTING IS FAVORABLE THE <br />
