MONTHLY STAFF REPORT City Clerk's Office July 2005 1. Budget Issues: Departments are all putting together their preliminary budgets. There will be a special Council meeting in August to review Department budgets. Nancy has been working diligently at putting together the proposed budget numbers. 2. Happenings/Projects during the month: • Police Chief Interview Process • Budgets • Mock OSHA Inspection by MMUA—A report of this inspection will be presented to the Council in about a month. 3. Meetings attended by the Clerk and Staff: • 7/1 —Council Packets/Budget/Invoices • 7/5 —Meeting with Larry Lein and Family regarding drainage, SCORE Fund Request to County for Recycling, City Council Meeting, Informal discussions with Department Heads on budgets • 7/7— Monthly Department Staff Meeting • 7/7—Meeting with DNR regarding park acquisition (The latest information from the DNR is that the property will not be entirely turned over to the City, however, a use agreement for the property will be drafted by the DNR to allow the City to do continue on with its park improvement plans). • 7/7—Meeting with Deputy Sheriff regarding interview process • 7/7—Meeting with Ray Niemann regarding interview process • 7/11 —Advertise for Bids for street projects (Evenson and McGill) • 7/11 —Department Head Monthly Budget Reviews • 7/11 —Meeting with Buyer of City Hall • 7/14—Park Board Meeting • 7/14—Meeting with Ray Niemann regarding interview process • 7/14—Regional LMC Meeting at Deerwood City Hall (See attached agenda) • 7/18—Meeting with Breezy Point Police Chief/Mayor Regarding joint PD • 7/19—Mock OSHA Inspection by MMUA • 7/19—Interview Team reviewed Police Chief Applications • 7/19—Special Council meeting—Hwy. 371 `, • 7/20—Schedule Interviews/Assemble Interview Packets
