City Council Minutes July 5, 2005 Page 2 of 8 ----------------------------- COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 4. Open Mike 4.1. Library Report Nancy Adams gave an oral update to the Council on library statistics. The Library has celebrated its one year anniversary. There have been over 9,000 patrons visiting the library during the past year and over 7,000 volunteer hours. Nancy thanked the Council for its support of the library and requested the Council to consider donating $5,000 - $10,000 for the library endowment fund to help insure the future of the library. Mayor Malecha thanked Nancy Adams, Donna Olson and the numerous volunteers. The Mayor requested that the endowment request be included in budget discussions. Everett Utter— indicated that he lives off of Wilderness Road. He stated that Nisswa is improving its portion of the road and he requested the City to consider improving the portion of the road owned by Pequot Lakes. The �. Mayor suggested that a meeting be held with the neighbors. 5.1. Request for Rezoning from Wooded Residential to Residential by William Wortham Staff report by Chuck Marohn. The property is 4.2 acres in size and is located on the north side of downtown between Highway 371 and Sibley Lake. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE THE REZONING REQUEST BY WILLIAM WORTHAM TO REZONE 4.2 ACRES OF LAND FROM WOODED RESIDENTIAL TO RESIDENTIAL. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 5.2. Final Plat— Sibley Acres, William Wortham Staff report by Chuck Marohn. He indicated that the Planning Commission recommended approval of the final plat. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE FINAL PLAT OF SIBLEY ACRES BASED ON THE FINDINGS OF FACT AND THE THREE CONDITIONS RECOMMENDED BY THE PLANNING
