City Council Minutes May 3, 2005 Page 4 -------------------------- 6.1. Park Board Presentation Del Anderson and Ron Schaefer of the Park Board informed the Council that the Park Board has been meeting on a regular basis and has drafted a proposed design for the Park on the north side of County Road 11. Del Anderson presented a drawing of the proposed design. He indicated that the components of the design would include a tarred walking path, electricity, lighting, underground watering system and park amenities such as benches, picnic tables etc. He indicated that these items would cost approximately $30,000. Del Anderson stated that the City has met with Chamber representatives to discuss the removal of the bean pot from the north side of the park to the south side of the park. The Chamber was agreeable to the suggestion. Ron Schaefer indicated that the City still had to meet with the DNR to get permission for the park improvements. Del Anderson requested the use of$1,500 to be used for park amenities such as painting and repairing the gazebo and plantings. Council Member Ryan suggested that parking be considered by the Park Board. It was the consensus of the Council that the park plan was a good idea. The Council suggested that the plan be reviewed by the Planning L. Commission. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE EXPENDITURES OF UP TO $1,500 FROM THE PARK BUDGET FOR PARK AMENITIES AND REPAIRS, THAT THE PARK PLAN IS REVIEWED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION, AND THAT PERMISSION FOR THE PARK IMPROVEMENTS IS OBTAINED FROM THE DNR. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 7. Police Chief Report Report given by the Chief of Police. 8. Water/Wastewater Report Report given by Brett Twardy. 8.1.
