COUNCIL REQUESTS
1. I am requesting that the council look at options for N. Heath St. which has
severe root problems. I would like to get bids on re-sleeving the main and/or
grouting the root problem areas. This item is not budgeted but would come out
of my capital outlay budget.
2. I would like to welcome Tim Leyk who is our new temporary water/wastewater
employee.
3. I would like to discuss options on the empty lot at old city hall. The sewer main
that runs through it is also connected to a home south of the old city hall on
Oriole St. There was previous talk to abandon this sewer main to make the lot
sellable.
4. I am requesting that the council consider a cooperative purchase of a vacuum
machine for the cities of Breezy Point, Crosslake, and Pequot Lakes. This
machine would be used to clean out sewers, drains, and storm sewers. It is
greatly needed but it is not cost effective in purchasing alone. The cost of this
machine would be equally shared by all 3 cities. The storage of this machine
would have to be agreed upon, but it would probably be stored at Breezy Point
which would be centrally located. The total cost of the machine would be
$47,925 (tax included). Our portion would be 33.33% which is $15,975. This
action would be contingent on approvals from Breezy Point and Crosslake as
well.
Sincerel
BRETT TWARDY
Water/Wastewater Superintendent
