MONTHLY WATER/WASTEWATER REPORT
FOR MARCH 2005
Water Plant: Still having telemetry problems between tower and
water plant. Installed new power control panel.
Ponds: Ponds are "turning over" causing odor problems.
This is normal and should cease within several
weeks.
Fire Hydrants: All okay.
Water Main: All okay.
Sanitary Sewer: Several backups at Second St.,N. Heath St., and W.
Woodman St. Several homes were affected. Dave
Anderson on Heath St., Dave Couture on W.
Woodman St., and TDS on Second St. (See
enclosed reports) Our insurance adjuster was
notified and is working with me on the David
Anderson claim. I have not heard from David
Couture yet.
General Comments: We received our award from the MPCA for
`., wastewater operations. A special thanks to all city
employees for their team effort.
The wastewater school was very informative with a
lot of new information on regulations, rules,
paperwork, and hands on technology.
The water school in St. Cloud had a lot of valuable
information also. Everything from new innovative
ideas to how to budget and set water/sewer rates
more accurately.
I am also working on solutions for the TDS sewer
backups. I recently televised the main by where the
problem occurs. I found no tree roots or cracks in
the pipe but I did notice that the Senior Center
service pipe sticks out into main. This does cause
problems in backups.
Sincerely,
BRETT TWARDY
Water/Wastewater Superintendent
