`-' Monthly Report <br /> to <br /> City Council <br /> Planning and Zoning Department <br /> February, 2005 <br /> Land Use Permits: <br /> The Zoning Office has reviewed one Variance Application, to date. This application, <br /> along with necessary supporting documents, have been forwarded to the City Planner to <br /> be included on the March Planning Commission Agenda. The fee for this application is <br /> $450.00. <br /> DRAFT Land Use and Subdivision Ordinance: <br /> The Planning Commission, Council Members and members of the general public <br /> continue to meet and discuss the DRAFT Land Use and Subdivision Ordinance. To date, <br /> Sections I, II, IV, VII, VIII,IX, X, XI, and XII have been discussed. Meeting dates are <br /> published in the legal section of the Lake Country Echo. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Implementation: <br /> Staff met in November to begin implementation of the short-term strategies listed in the <br /> Plan. Staff has met several times with the HRA Director to discuss a housing inventory, <br /> to set goals and possible funding and partnering with other organizations. Staff has asked <br /> the Park Board to address several short-term strategies. Staff has contacted Kevin <br /> Mealhouse, Building Code Representative of the Minnesota Dept. of Administration, <br /> regarding the steps to re-institute the State Building Code. Staff contacted Sheila at <br /> BLADC regarding TIF,revolving loans, etc.,the Minnesota Lakes Association to obtain <br /> information on phosphorous fertilizers and insecticides, contacted the DNR regarding <br /> additional bike racks along the Trail and met with the Chief of Police regarding <br /> Homeland Security. <br /> Education: <br /> Bittner has registered for an Individual Sewage Treatment System Continuing Ed class on <br /> July 14 and 15 in Waseca at the University of Minnesota Southern Research and <br /> Outreach Center. Twelve hours of continuing ed is required to maintain her Inspector <br /> license. <br />
