Pequot Lakes Library <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> January 18, 2005 <br /> Present: Nancy Adams,Claire Nagel, Shari Wilson,Jerry Akerson,Lydia Loven <br /> Absent: Dave S joblod,Dave Anderson <br /> Guest: Cathy Molecha <br /> Minutes of the December 14,2004 minutes were presented. Claire Nagel mace a motion to <br /> approve, Lydia Loven seconded,all ayes,motion passed <br /> Treasurer's Report: Dave Anderson was absent. Nancy Adams presented the report. Recap <br /> of financials for the year-end was presented. Current amount in account for 2005 is <br /> $18,386.22. This amount exceeds our budget for the year but it was decided by the Board <br /> to leave it in the general account in case of unforeseen expenses.Two donations to the <br /> Library were noted: $100.00 by Joe Plut,and$250.00 by Scott Adams.Motion by Claire <br /> Nagel to accept the treasurer's report,seconded by Jerry Akerson,all ayes, motion passed. <br /> Nancy Adams welcomed Jerry Akerson to the Board and presented the Board with a list of <br /> Board Member responsibilities and committee assignments. Nancy informed the Board of <br /> the subscription to the New York Times would be added to the library shortly. <br /> Lydia Loven reported on Children's Story Hour and the handling of volunteer readers. <br /> Claire Nagel will write a new Library article to appear in next week's edition of the Echo. <br /> Shari Wilson had nothing to report on Dicor/Art Programs. <br /> Cathy Malecha reported on fundraising and stated we needed to replace our Book Saks with <br /> another fundraiser as we are no longer holding any more book sales. The Fundraisers set <br /> for 2005 are as follows: <br /> May Etta Pie Sales: Bean Hole Days-July 2005 <br /> Taste of Pequot-September, 2005 <br /> Garden Tea: August 2005 <br /> Basket Extravaganza: November 2005 <br /> Jerry Akerson will contact Mary Etta Durham to schedule the Pie Sales. Lydia Loven will <br /> head the Garden Tea,and Cathy Makcha and Shari Wilson will coordinate the Basket <br /> Extravaganza. Claire Nagel will make a new banner for the Library. The Board is <br /> encouraged to find other sources of fundraising. <br /> Cathy Molecha reported on obtaining back issues of the Lake Country Echo and having them <br /> available at the Library. After discussion on this topic,Nancy Adams made a motion to <br /> pursue this venture by having Cathy work with the Echo,the Pequot Lakes Historical <br />
