SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2006 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor C. Malecha, Council Members Nagel, Sjoblad, <br /> Oraskovich, Bolz-Andolshek, Pfeiffer, and Ryan <br /> Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Nancy Malecha, Deputy City <br /> Clerk; Mike Loven, Maintenance Supervisor; Tom Nelson, <br /> Fire Chief; and Larry Oaks, Firefighter <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Malecha called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City <br /> Council to order at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Malecha led with the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance <br /> 2. Fire Department Remodel <br /> Larry Oaks informed the Council that the fire department would like to <br /> complete the remodeling project in 2 — 3 months rather than in a two-year <br /> time period. <br /> Council Member Ryan questioned whether there were sufficient funds to <br /> accomplish this. Nancy Malecha reviewed an analysis of fire department <br /> funds with the Council. <br /> Fire Chief Nelson noted that the Police Department will be contributing <br /> $3,000 and questioned whether the City would be interested in <br /> contributing toward the project. He indicated that the room could be used <br /> as a meeting room by the City. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE FULL FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT REMODELING PROJECT CONTINGENT UPON USING <br /> THE FOLLOWING FUNDS: <br /> • $3,500 FIRE BUDGET -TRAVEL, CONFERENCE, SCHOOLS <br /> $3,000 FIRE BUDGET — PAGERS/RADIOS <br /> • $5,000 FIRE BUDGET — CAPITAL OUTLAY <br /> • $3,000 COMMUNITY POLICING BUDGET <br /> • 2,500 TO BE DETERMINED BY THE COUNCIL <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Mayor Malecha questioned whether the Fire Board should be informed <br /> prior to the City moving forward. <br />
