City Council Minutes <br /> December 4,2006 <br /> Page 10 of 12 <br /> -------------------------- <br /> BE PURCHASED IN 2007. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE $7,500 TO BE <br /> TRANSFERRED FROM THE 2006 COMMUNITY POLICING BUDGET <br /> TO THE CLERK'S BUDGET WITH THE FUNDS TO BE DESIGNATED <br /> FOR FINANCIAL SOFTWARE PURCHASE IN 2007. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7- <br /> 0. <br /> 11.3. Computer Equipment Purchase <br /> The Clerk requested authorization to purchase a new computer server. <br /> She noted that Cascade Computers has recommended that the City have <br /> a dedicated server which will provide better reliability, more security and a <br /> centralized data storage area. This server will also accommodate the <br /> City's new financial software. <br /> Council Member Ryan indicated that a second quote should be received <br /> prior to ordering the server. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br /> PURCHASE OF A DEDICATED SERVER CONTINGENT ON <br /> RECEIVING A SECOND QUOTE. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 11.4. Water/Wastewater Employee Wage <br /> The Clerk noted that Tina has taken full responsibility for running the water <br /> and wastewater systems since October 23` . She also noted that Tina has <br /> upgraded her Wastewater license to a Class D. The Clerk recommended <br /> that Tina Nolden be given an increase in pay to Step 10 of the 2007 pay <br /> plan and that the increase be retroactive to October 23, 2006. The Clerk <br /> informed the Council that the Water/Wastewater committee will continue <br /> to meet and make a recommendation to the Council regarding <br /> restructuring of the Department and a new job description and pay range <br /> for Tina's position. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE TINA NOLDEN TO <br /> MOVE TO STEP 10 OF THE 2007 PAY PLAN IMMEDIATELY <br /> RETROACTIVE TO OCTOBER 23, 2006, AND THAT NO FURTER <br /> INCREASE BE GIVEN UNTIL A RECOMMENDATION IS MADE TO THE <br /> COUNCIL BY THE PAY EQUITY AND WATERIWASTEWATER <br />
