AGENDA ITEM #9.2 <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Date: December 4, 2006 <br /> Subject: Weekend Pay for Checking Lifts <br /> Report: Staff is requesting Council to consider a change <br /> in policy for checking lift stations and other duties during <br /> the weekends for water/wastewater departments. Currently <br /> �. the policy is that employees are paid for actual time <br /> worked. After doing some research on the issue, we found <br /> that surrounding communities offer anywhere from 2 to 4 <br /> ours per day on the weekends for checking lift stations and <br /> doing other required jobs. <br /> Staff is recommending that the Council authorize a <br /> minimum of two hours per day on Saturday, Sunday and <br /> holidays for anyone performing the required tasks for the <br /> water and wastewater departments. <br /> Council Action Requested: Council motion changing the <br /> policy for actual hours worked on weekends for the <br /> water/wastewater department to a minimum of two hours <br /> per day for Saturday, Sunday and holidays. <br />
