Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> November 30, 2006 <br /> So far for the month of November the Department has logged 270 individual ICRs. <br /> Activities: <br /> In the month of November, The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers recorded 431 separate <br /> business security checks. Reserves assisted with crowd security at the school district Hockey team <br /> season opener on Nov. 28th. Several Reserves will also assist with security during the High School <br /> basketball games over the winter. <br /> Officer Hogan proudly represented the Police Department and the City by singing the National Anthem <br /> before the opening of the Hockey game on Tuesday night. Deputy Chief Ryan reported that he heard a <br /> lot of compliments from the kids the next day at school. <br /> The Department sold the forfeited Chevy Cavalier through the sealed bid process and received a high <br /> bid of$951.00. <br /> The application process for selecting three part time officers is progressing, with 10 qualified applicants <br /> being scheduled for 1St round interviews. After these interviews the field will be reduced to 5 applicants <br /> to select from after a second interview. <br /> The department will participate in the Christmas for kids program this year, in two ways. The Dept in <br /> conjunction with two local businesses have donated $1000.00 each toward buying presents for local <br /> youth. This project is being done with the Student Council at the Pequot Lakes High School and Jr. <br /> High. The Council members will do the shopping for the needed gifts for other area teens. They will <br /> then also wrap the gifts and deliver them to the Christmas for Kids organization. On Christmas Eve <br /> weekend the Dept will also provide transportation for delivery of the gifts to the families as well as <br /> Officer Hogan serving as Santa and Officer Kate Petersen serving as an Elf. <br /> Training: <br /> Nov 20th&21 St: Officer Gartner attended Taser Instructor re-certification training. <br /> Significant Cases: <br /> • Deputy Chief Ryan responded to a call that has resulted in 1St Degree Burglary charges being <br /> filed by the County Attorney's office. <br /> • Office Hogan responded to an Armed Robbery call at the Super America gas station on the 181H <br /> Res ectfully Submitted, <br /> Je Braam <br /> Chief of Police <br />
