PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 17, 2006 <br /> The meeting was called to order by President Nancy Adams. Board members present: <br /> Nancy Adams, Dave Anderson, Sam Hennies, Ann Hutchings, John Longnecker, Claire <br /> Nagel. Absent: Lydia Loven. Mary Pfeiffer attended as our city council representative. <br /> Sam Hennies moved, Dave Anderson seconded,that the minutes of the September 19, <br /> 2006 meeting be accepted. Motion carried. <br /> Dave Anderson gave the Treasurer's Report: We have 50,325.08 in our Endowment <br /> certificates, $10,325.08 in our"Rainy Day"certificate, and 2,049.02 in the savings <br /> account. There is$8,487.11 in the checking account. John Longnecker moved, Ann <br /> Hutchings seconded, that the Treasurer's Report be accepted. Motion carried. <br /> After discussion, John Longnecker moved, Claire Nagel seconded,that a <br /> Building/Expansion Fund be established with a total of$10,000 to be deposited during <br /> the year 2007 and that this fund be added to the budget annually beginning in 2008. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Volunteers are going well, as are library programs. There will be another adult winter <br /> reading program this winter Publicity is going well and Claire appreciates any items for <br /> her column. The Basket Auction is this Saturday,October 21,and all help would be <br /> appreciated. John Longnecker is going to take all baskets to Deacon's Lodge and all <br /> board members will help with cleanup. It was decided that board members will have <br /> nametags so they can be identified. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Ann Hutchings is working on the projects involving other organizations and will report in <br /> November. She is also acting as Joanne Boelter's substitute for TDS Bring Me A Book— <br /> something very much appreciated. <br /> New Business: <br /> Nancy Adams moved, Claire Nagel seconded, that we spend the money to purchase a <br /> new shelving unit for juvenile books in the children's room. Motion carried. <br /> Ann Hutchings discussed the possibility of having every-other-month exhibits of various <br /> types of materials. This might be books on"Cities around the world"or Children's <br /> Dictionaries in different languages. Nancy and Donna will try to work on this. <br /> The meeting for December was changed to the second Tuesday—December 12th. <br /> Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m. <br /> Next Meeting: Tuesday,November 21, 2006 <br />
