Maintenance Department Monthly Report <br /> August 2006 <br /> Mowing and maintenance associated with the large summer crowds has slowed and now <br /> we are preparing for the snow which will come soon. <br /> The proposed purchase of land from Potlatch for the extension of Nagel Road seems to <br /> have come to a halt. With many attempts to contact land managers at Potlatch with no <br /> return calls, it seems that the project is tied to the legal action south of town. <br /> The dry season has been very hard on trees in our area. Many on city owned land or street <br /> right-of-ways have been dying and have to be removed; with many more to show up next <br /> spring. <br /> This month a monument to the Purple Heart Veterans was installed in the Trailside Park <br /> east of the War Memorial and is a very nice addition to the Park. <br /> 9-20—Kurt & Lance attended an OSHA safety class in Grand Rapids <br /> 9-26—Lance attended a League of MN Cities chainsaw training workshop in Fergus <br /> Falls. <br /> Meetings Attended: <br /> 9-11 Monthly Dept budget meeting <br /> 9-14 Park Board meeting <br /> 9-20 371-MPCA council meeting <br /> 9-20 Performance review training <br />
