PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> SEPTEMBER 19, 2006 <br /> The meeting was called to order by President Nancy Adams. Board members present: <br /> Nancy Adams, Dave Anderson, Sam Hennies, Ann Hutchings, John Longnecker, Claire <br /> Nagel. Absent: Lydia Loven. Mary Pfeiffer was our city council representative. <br /> Dave Anderson moved, and Ann Hutchings seconded,that the minutes of the August 15, <br /> 2006, meeting be approved. Motion carried. <br /> Treasurer's Report was presented by Dave Anderson. We have a total of$40, 325.08 in <br /> our three Endowment certificates. There is $10,325.08 in the "Rainy Day" certificate, <br /> $2,041.67 in the Savings Account, and$13,041.29 in the checking account. Claire Nagel <br /> moved, Ann Hutchings seconded, that the treasurer's report be accepted. Motion carried. <br /> Nancy Adams moved, John Longnecker seconded,that we move$10,000 out of the <br /> savings account into a new Endowment Certificate at American National Bank of Pequot <br /> Lakes. Motion carried. Nancy will write a request for money transfer to be approved by <br /> the city council. <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Volunteers continue to be timely and responsible. <br /> No new library programs at the present time. The First Thursday Book Club continues to <br /> meet with approximately six members. <br /> Claire has submitted a first notice about the Silent Auction to the Echo and her column <br /> will be submitted next week. <br /> The Silent Auction is shaping up and will be on Oct. 21"at Deacon's Lodge. Two tickets <br /> are being given if a donor's gift value is approximately $100, otherwise they get 1 ticket. <br /> It is important that board members plan to help at the end of the evening. <br /> Old Business: <br /> The Volunteer Appreciation Party was a great success with lots of volunteers attending. <br /> New Business: <br /> Ann Hutchings will work to develop cooperation with local agencies and perhaps the <br /> library will be a place where patrons can get free tickets to museums, etc. <br /> Sam Hennies(and Jack)moved to adjourn, Dave Anderson seconded. Motion carried. <br /> Next meeting will be Tuesday, October 17,2006. <br />
