SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2006 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor C. Malecha, Council Members Bolz-Andolshek, <br /> Greer, Pfeiffer, Nagel, Sjoblad, and Ryan <br /> Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Malecha called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City <br /> Council to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> 1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Malecha led with the Pledge of Allegiance <br /> 2. Discuss Council Liaison Roles <br /> Mayor Malecha stated what she perceived the Council Liaison roles to <br /> entail. She stated that if a Council Member has a concern or receives a <br /> complaint about a department or City issue, the Council Member should <br /> first contact the Council Liaison to talk about the issue. The Council <br /> Liaison should be knowledgeable about the Department, committee, <br /> commission, etc. that it is a liaison to. <br /> Council Member Greer indicated he would like to see some guidelines for <br /> the Council to follow. <br /> The Clerk indicated that she found some Council By-laws that were <br /> adopted in 1991 that do speak to the Council Liaison roles. She suggested <br /> revising the By-Laws. <br /> 3. Discuss Council Meeting Procedures and Length of time for Meetings <br /> Council Member Bolz-Andolshek suggested following parliamentary <br /> procedure. He also suggested that Council Members read Roberts Rules <br /> Complete Idiots Guide. Council Member Bolz-Andolshek indicated that the <br /> Mayor would have more control over the meeting if these guidelines were <br /> followed which could ultimately shorten the meeting times. <br /> It was suggested that the Council thoroughly review their packets prior to <br /> coming to the meeting. The Council requested the packets to be delivered <br />
