PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT MINUTES OF THE JUNE 7,2006 MEETING The regular meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson,24 members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by Rickard, second by Zeimet,motion passed Truck checks were discussed. The Peterbuilt was missing the 20 ton jack. The battery6 powered sawsall is in the van. The antifreeze leak was found in a hose connection to the pump operator's compartment. Engine 2 was missing a roll of duct tape and a 5"to 6" storz adapter. The engine was low 2 quarts of oil. The tender was missing a 2 %2"by 1 %2" adapter and a 4 %2"floating strainer. Tanker 3 was OK. The air packs have been moved from the tanker. Engine 4 (rescue van) was low a quart of oil. It was also missing a small orange flash light. The rescue saw carburetor was cleaned and it starts much better. Grass truck#5 was missing a Pulaski axe and a gas can. Tanker 6 was OK. Grass truck#9 was low a V2 quart of oil. We need to make a check list for the four wheeler. The financial report fire find balance was not available from the city as their meeting is next week. Our checking account balance is$4840.00 and the city owes us $460.00 for reimbursements. `-' The new rescue trailer will cost about$1800.00 and will be paid from the fire fund. It is due to be delivered anytime. The next Cuyuna Range meeting is planned for Mission Township on June 15`x'. The Staples fire department I Wh anniversary is this coming weekend. Bill will be taking a truck to their parade on Saturday. The recent fire call we had on old highway 371 with the hot electrical smell was coming from a fan motor in the basement. Bill took her a couple smoke detectors. The Safety issue for the month was we should all wear our gear during fire calls to protect ourselves. Dan mentioned a notice he saw about burning trusses and how dangerous they can be. The Minnesota fire service web site has a feature that the Toronto fire department experienced. The Mac tanker is still not done The Chief asked about buying the paint for it so we are ready when it is done. Peterson II motioned to purchase the needed supplies, second by Zeimet,motion passed.
