Pequot Lakes City Council <br /> TH 371 Four-Lane Improvements <br /> Work Session with MnDOT <br /> August 22, 2006, 6:00 pm <br /> Issues To Consider <br /> Thru Downtown <br /> MnDOT <br /> • Accesses onto/off of/across new 4-lane <br /> • Pedestrian crossings of new 4-lane (and any City costs involved) <br /> • Speed of traffic on new 4-lane <br /> • Cost of City modifications to City sanitary sewer and watermain in MnDOT R/W <br /> New service roads (new roads for City, cost of City share of thee roads) <br /> • Cost of possible new City sanitary sewer and watermain prior to service roads <br /> • Possible aesthetics/lighting improvements on new 4-lane (and City cost for them) <br /> • Congestion(more mixing of thru traffic and local traffic) <br /> County <br /> • Number of lanes, crossing of, and congestion on CSAH 1 l/Main Street <br /> • Intersection control at CSAH I I/Main Street—Old 371 —CR 112 (stoplight?) <br /> Around the edge of Downtown <br /> MnDOT <br /> • Visibility/access to businesses <br /> `.. + Controlled access—only points will be on the south, CSAH 11, and north <br /> • Either no present City sanitary sewer and watermain or new R/W by MnDOT so <br /> they would need to account for it <br /> • No new service roads <br /> • Future growth and sanitary sewer and watermain extensions will be an issue/cost <br /> • Better separation of thru traffic and local traffic <br /> County <br /> • Turnback of present Hwy 371 to County <br /> • Turnback of CR 112 and CSAH 11 west of present Hwy 371 to the City <br /> • Generally same speed and accesses onto/off of/across present Hwy 371 <br /> • No City cost to extend/modify City utilities in present Hwy 371 R/W <br /> • No new service roads off of/parallel to present Hwy 371 <br /> • While maybe not as fast, traffic will likely continue to increase on CSAH I l/Main <br /> Street(number of lanes, crossing of, and congestion won't go away) <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> C:\Documents and Settings\Sandy\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK23\Issues to consider-Aug 22 2006.doc <br />
