r PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT MINUTES OF THE MAY 3, 2006 MEETING The monthly meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 23 members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by Peterson II, second by Rickard, motion passed. Truck and equipment checks were discussed. The Peterbuilt was all OK. Engine 2 was also all OK, but was missing a roll of duct tape. The Breezy station's air lines are not done yet, so there is no air hooked to either truck out there. Tanker 3 has a tear in the portable dump tank and the plastic is starting to get brittle. The oil for the pump engine was changed. The floating pump should also be on Tanker 3. Different brands of foam should not be mixed because doing so can make the foam not be so good. The van(#4)was missing a gas can, one small flashlight, and one pry bar. Grass truck#5 was all OK, however it was also missing a gas can. Breezy tanker#6 has an extra roof ladder and an extra rubber mallet. Only the 4" PVC tank to tank jet was missing. Tender truck#7 was missing a 5" strainer. Grass truck#9 was all OK. The 1975 pump truck has a leaking gas tank and is out of service. The floating pump should be on top of tanker 3 and resting in an old tire. The financial report for our checking account is that last month our balance was$5392.59 and tonight it is $6812.28. The fire fund balance is at $34766.09. We received $7150.00 for the hazardous materials training we participated in and also for the Fire Fighter II training. Safety Town is planned for June 6`h thru the 9`". Our vehicle day will be Tuesday June 6a' from 9am to noon. We will take lots of trucks and also have the safety house. The program is planned for Pequot Lakes school. Brian found out that Wadena does have a fire department rodeo on September 9a'. There are no entry fees and all participating departments get $100.00. The grand prize is $1000.00. We will attend and we only need four fire fighters. We plan to send a truck to the Pine River summer fest parade and also to the 100 ' anniversary parade at Staples. Engine 2 should be the truck going.
