Pequot Lakes is mentioned of joining the ranks of those cities. <br /> When it comes to cities issuing their own traffic tickets, all of us should be concerned <br /> about protecting the Public Safety of the citizens of Minnesota and the interests of the <br /> taxpayer. More specifically, cities have no legal authority to issue these tickets. In fact, <br /> citizens should question those cities that don't stop issuing these types of tickets <br /> immediately. Some say that since the Legislature has not taken action that cities are <br /> right. That assumption is ridiculous. If it is already illegal to pass these ordinances,why <br /> would the Legislature have to pass another law? <br /> In Minnesota, we have a uniform traffic ticket. That means that everyone in the state is <br /> treated equally for the enforcement of traffic laws. Generally speaking, in the past, if you <br /> i <br />
