The SCADA software <br /> continually locks up or not does not display current status information from the control system, <br /> and flow totals do not always display correct data. I verified that the communication from the <br /> computer to other control system components was working appropriately. I was unable to <br /> resolve any issues while at the WTP,but based on experience our recommendations for resolving <br /> the problems you are experiencing,are to upgrade both the computer and the SCADA software, <br /> and revise how the flow totals are calculated. There are two main reasons for upgrading both the <br /> SCADA software and hardware at this time: <br /> 1. The City of Pequot Lakes is currently using SCADA software Wonderware version 6.0. <br /> This software version is no longer supported by Wonderware, and should be upgraded to <br /> the current version 9.5. <br /> 2. The existing SCADA computer is running Microsoft Windows NT operating system, <br /> which is no longer supported by Microsoft. The SCAD'A computer should be running the <br /> newest operating system,Microsoft Windows XP. <br /> The age of the hardware and software creates both a risk afrehability and c ability ,If <br /> the SCADA computer failed inthelf need to be _" "` . <br /> it would be supplied with Microsoft Windows XI-401 ig system. The Windows - _ <br /> operating system could be installed on the .¢omputer,but the hardware that comes with the <br /> computer(ie. CD drive, USB ports,video cards)may not have drivers that allow them to operate <br /> with the NT operating system. A new version of PCAnywhere software should also be included <br /> with this upgrade. PCAnywhere software allows a user to access a remote PC. This would <br /> enable AE2S to connect the SCADA computer at your discretion,to make modifications from <br /> our offices,rather than traveling to and from Pequot Lakes.
