s
PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT
MINUTES OF THE APRIL 5, 2006 MEETING
The regular meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 26 members were
present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by
Evenson, second by Varilek, motion passed.
Truck check reports followed. Both grass trucks need oil changes. Generally all the
trucks were pretty good. Grass truck#9 blew the fuse again for the light bar.
The fire fund balance is $13797.00 and some contract money is coming in. Our checking
account balance is 5392.59, which includes $1549.34 the city owes us for
reimbursements. During the month we paid 137.04 for pop and water, paid $323.86 for
fire school lodging, and paid $105.00 for fire school meals. We deposited a check for
$576.99 from the city for bills we paid last month.
We received a notice from Staples that they will be celebrating their 100th anniversary on
June 80. They plan an open house at the fire hall on June 8th and 9th. They have activities
scheduled both days. There will be fireworks on Friday night and a parade4 on Saturday
afternoon. We should plan to send a truck to their parade on Saturday.
There will be a special night for Timber Wolves basketball on April 19th starting at 4:00
pm at the Target Center for anyone interested.
We will not have our safety program tonight from police chief Braam due to the fire call
during our meeting tonight.
Our underground water tanks in Moose Lake Township should be checked. Tank#1 and
3 were sealed. Use the tanker and the pump to check these tanks.
The DNR Mac tanker truck is almost completed.
The tender truck has carburetor troubles. It should not be used until repaired.
There will be an Officers meeting next Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
The hazmat test review scheduled for Thursday at Brainerd fire station will probably be
cancelled.
There will be a make-up training session for the bloodborne pathogens class for anyone
who missed the first class.
We need a new computer to operate new relief association software. Our old computer is
almost filled to its capacity. Cascade Computer has a bid price of$1200.00 for a new
