Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to City Council <br /> March 30, 2006 <br /> So far for the month of March the Department has logged over 175 ICRs, many with multiple offences. <br /> Several officers have also attended court in Brainerd on a number of different cases. <br /> The old department squad cars have all been put up for sale by sealed bid. The bids will be accepted <br /> until 10 am on April 10th. Several bids have been turned in at this time. <br /> Equipment: <br /> The department has upgraded the old printer to a new laser jet as was budgeted for, which will provide <br /> years of cost savings on toner. The department has also received the old copier from the Clerk/Zoning <br /> departments,helping speed up assembling of reports and case information as needed. <br /> The Harley has been delivered to the Harley Dealer in St Cloud to have final equipment installations <br /> completed before delivery to the department. Officer Hogan will install the graphics once the bike has <br /> been delivered. <br /> Activities: <br /> Four of the officers from the Department, including the Chief participated in the Polar Plunge on <br /> March 11th, helping to raise money for Special Olympics. The Pequot Lakes Police Dept had the <br /> highest participation for any law enforcement department in Crow Wing County. The Officers wish to <br /> extend their appreciation to all who provided financial support for their participation. <br /> Training: <br /> Mar 6th-91h: Deputy Chief John Ryan attended Leadership Training. <br /> Mar 10th: Janet Wedan and Nancy Malecha attended training for implementing the Restorative <br /> Justice grant the City was awarded in January. <br /> Mar 14th-15th: Officer Gartner attended Drug Interdiction training in Baxter. <br /> Mar 27th-29th: Janet Wedan attended Grant writing training in St Paul at the University of MN. <br /> Mar 29th: All Officers in the Department received training from Officer Gartner and updated their <br /> certification for using the Taser. <br /> Upcoming: <br /> Apr 13th: Officer Gartner and K9 Shadow will attend USPCA K9 trials for Certification. <br /> 1 <br />
