The police department has challenged us to take the polar plunge. Kelly will do it. We
also need 2 men in rubber suits to help plungers get out of the water. We will be short on
manpower that weekend. There will also be prizes for the best individual and the best
teams.
The Loon Lake association could use help with putting up warning signs out on the lake
near their aerators. Bridge and Rickard will contact Bob Littman and help them.
The Nisswa training on bloodborne will be Tuesday, the 28I' at 6:00 pm.
Safety issues was an example of a tanker driver that went through a red light and hit a car
and killed a woman and her baby. The law suit went after the fire department and the
city. A safety study shows that night drivers drive into lights, so be careful.
We received a letter from the public defender's office asking our help to answer
questions which involved the potato salad motor vehicle accident last June 26, 2005, on
County Road 15, near the Pine River bridge.
Question# 1 was where Ms.Anderson was in the vehicle at the time of our arrival. The
answer was she was in the front seat behind the steering wheel. We did not need to pry
the front door. There was also a bottle of beer between her legs.
Question#2 was whether or not we feel if she was able to move around in the vehicle
after the crash. The answer was she could not move around as she was in a lot of pain.
She was holding her arm by her shoulder.
Question 3 was what damage we noted to the vehicle. The answer was the vehicle rolled
end over end and the4 front bumper was off the frame and no glass was broke.
Question#4 was whether or not we feel that there was anyway that anyone exited the
vehicle after the crash. The answer was no way anyone exited the vehicle as the entire
interior was covered with potato salad and there was no tracks in the salad.
Question#5 was whether or not Ms. Anderson made any comments to us or anyone else
that they witnessed or heard regarding another party having been in the vehicle. The
answer was no way was there anyone else in that vehicle.
Question#6 was what process was used to extract Ms. Anderson from her vehicle. The
answer was we opened the door and helped ambulance personnel load her on a
backboard.
The city office has fire department calendars free to the public.
The Chris Carlson benefit raised about $5500.00 for them.
