Memorandum
To: The City of Pequot Lakes Mayor and City Council Members
From: Amy Collins, Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corporation(BLADC)
Re: Request for Economic Development Assistance:
Government Drive and Brunes Royce Addition
Date: March 31, 2006
Findings for Potential Sources of Funding
BLADC engaged consultant services to research Government Drive and Brunes Royce
funding options. The entire report is attached. This letter will highlight the most viable
options for funding to assist the City with their vision.
Report Explanation
The report lists all sources of funding that were researched. An "X"has been placed in the
column under either Government Drive or Brunes Royce or both if the project had any
chance of receiving this type of funding. If a program is listed, but no"X" is listed under
either column, which will enable us to rule out additional research in the future.
Recommendations
The following sources of funding were identified as a potential fit for these projects:
• Government Drive
• USDA Community Facilities loan and grant program
• Assessing property owners
• Brunes Royce Project
• U.S. EDA infrastructure Funding
• Tax Increment Financing
• DEED Business Development Infrastructure Fund
• Assessing property owners
