Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to City Council <br /> March 3, 2006 <br /> For the month of February the Department logged over 150 ICRs, with the officers working on <br /> slowing down traffic again to safe (legal)highway speeds. <br /> Chief Braam's father passed away on Wednesday, March 1St. Those available from the department will <br /> attend the funeral next week, in full uniform to provide support to Jerry and his family. <br /> The old department squad cars have all been detailed and are ready to be put up for sale by sealed bid. <br /> Equipment: <br /> All new squads and weaponry has now been put into service. <br /> Training: <br /> Feb 15th : Officers Hogan and Nangle attended a refresher course in Investigation techniques at <br /> the Breezy Point Public Safety building with other officers from Crow Wing County. <br /> Feb 22°a : The whole department attended mandatory annual trainings, i.e. Defensive tactics, <br /> Blood born pathogens, Use of Force and Hazmat. Training provided by the Hibbing <br /> Technical College, here at our department. <br /> Upcoming: <br /> Mar 6th—9th: Deputy Chief John Ryan will attend Leadership Training at Camp Ripley. <br /> Mar 10th: Office Mgr. Janet Wedan and Deputy Clerk Nancy Malecha will attend training for <br /> implementing the Restorative Justice grant the City was awarded in January. <br /> Mar 14-15th: Officer Gartner will attend Drug Interdiction training in Baxter. This is a tactical <br /> expertise training focusing on getting drug trafficking off the streets. <br /> Mar 19th: K-9 Officer Shadow will attend USPCA Certification in Little Falls. <br /> Mar 27-29th: Office Mgr. Wedan will attend a Professional Grant Proposal Writing Workshop at the <br /> University of Minnesota in St. Paul.
