Tanker 6 was repaired with a new alternator and a distributor.
Pack#13 was repaired by Metro Fire at no cost.
We are cautioned not to fill air tanks too fast. They need to be done slow, so pressure
doesn't drop after cooling. When you take an air pack off, make sure to loosen all the
straps. Also shut off the valve on the big air bottles when tank filling has been completed.
The DNR tanker needs to be test driven. The tank should be ready in mid-March. The
tanker committee is trying to decide what we need for dump valves. They are going to get
air driven valves for three discharge ports. We could get just one air valve for the main
one, and then have the three dump ports be operated with manual valves, such as on a tee
fitting.
Oaks asked about starting work on our training room partition sometime this year. He
was asking if our new 2006 budget can cover this. We will need a committee to plan this.
Oaks motioned we get council approval to begin meeting room construction. The motion
was seconded by Rickard, motion passed. We could do the construction in phases, so
costs could be managed better. Oaks also motioned we purchase a commercial washer for
gear, second by Kirk Larson, motion passed. We should get price quotes for a front
loading machine and report at next meeting. We also need more red bio-hazard bags.
Patrick asked about moving the air bags and the porta-power tool to the Pete,to meet
needs for rescue.
Kevin mentioned the new radios operation time does not last very long, and should only
be used for training.
Nisswa is coming to our next training meeting, which will start at 6:30 pm. Daren needs
to know the menu for supper. Brats, hot dogs, potato salad, and baked beans were
mentioned. Our other joint training will be the 0 Tuesday in March at Nisswa. We will
check with the Legion Club to ask if we may use their back room for our training.
The benefit for Chris and Leilah will be February 18''at the Legion. The Palmers had
another obligation, so we will get a DJ at a cost of$225.00. He is a Brainerd fire fighter
and is giving us a good price. Brian motioned the department pay for the cost of the DJ,
second by Bill, motion passed. A spaghetti dinner will be held before the dance. We will
need help at 3:00 pm
Selter motioned to adjourn, second by Zeimet, meeting adjourned.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Peterson I, Casanova, Oaks, Loven, Szymanski,
Peterson II, Crist, Nelson, Nordby, Bridge, Rickard, Varilek, Knutson, Carlson, Evenson,
Kirk Larson, Nolden, Schwankl, Selter, Zeimet, Kelly Larson, Cerise, Wasserbauer, and
Wendt
