AMERICAN LEGION #49 AUXILIARY
GAMBLING
`., Gambling Manager Sharon Higgins
PO BOX 463
PEQUOT LAKES, MN 56472
Phone 218-562-4019 e-mail: sharonandlarry@tds.net
March 6, 2006
City of Pequot Lakes
31108 Government Drive
Pequot Lakes,MN 56472
RE: Resolution License 02957
Dear Pequot City Council,
We have been informed that our renewal resolution will cost$200.00. We understand
that you may assess an investigation fee on organizations applying for or renewing a
premises permit but we are asking you to reconsider this cost for our premise permit.
Four years ago we only paid$25.00 for this permit and are asking that you consider us
paying only$25.00 this year too.
We are the American Legion#49 Auxiliary and we only do Monday night session bingo
with this premise permit. Session bingo does not have a large profit margin. In 2005 our
site profit was only$2427.82. We mainly do bingo for a community function and a place
for the local senior citizen's to go and play bingo. Our average customer age is 65.
We give a lot of donations to the community like the Easter Egg Hunt which is our next
big project coming in April for the community children. Enclosed is a partial list of
donations we have done this past year.
The American Legion Post#49 has the gambling license for pull-tabs and meat raffles at
the same site.
Thank you for considering this.
Sharon Higgins
Gambling Manager
Unit#49
